Emmett Atwater thought Babel’s game sounded easy. Get points. Get paid. Go home. But it didn’t take long for him to learn that Babel’s competition was full of broken promises, none darker or more damaging than the last one.
Now Emmett and the rest of the Genesis survivors must rally and forge their own path through a new world. Their mission from Babel is simple: extract nyxia, the most valuable material in the universe, and play nice with the indigenous Adamite population.
But Emmett and the others quickly realize they are caught between two powerful forces—Babel and the Adamites—with clashing desires. Will the Genesis team make it out alive before it’s too late?

We begin pretty much immediately after the end of Nyxia. Emmett and many of the gang have landed on Eden and have to trek through the wilderness to make it to the first mining assignment.

One of the things I loved about Nyxia was the amount of diversity shown. And it doesn't end with Nyxia. Nyxia Unleashed has plenty of it and even more than before.
While Nyxia focused on the challenges the teens faced while training in space, the second book focuses mainly on their challenges after they've landed on Eden. The group encounters new creatures as well as some new people. And they get to know the Adamites, who are not exactly what they've been led to expect.
Of course, is anything Babel said really true?
I liked the way the story continued, and I liked that we were able to get to know more of the characters we had limited exposure to in the first book.
Nothing was quite as it seemed. And the ending left me needing more.
Overall
I cannot wait for the final book to come out. I loved the characters, the plot, and the world.
4.5 stars
