Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish

Today's theme is:

Top 10 All-time favorite books of the last 5 years

Throne of Glass series

I love fantasy novels.  There is also something interesting about books with fae and faeries.  Their portrayals are always so different.  And I am anxiously awaiting the next in the series.

Penryn and the End of Days Series

Again, fantasy novels.  I can't wait for End of Days to come out.  I love the writing in these books and I love all of the characters.  Plus it's about the end of the world.

The Darkest Minds series

Alternate presents in science fiction are truly amazing when they can be pulled off.

Legend series

Of these, my favorite is definitely Champion. I love how the ending is well thought out, and yet it's bittersweet and not horrendously sad.

The Darkest Part of the Forest

More on this with my next review.

Snow Like Ashes

This is only the first book in the series.  I didn't expect to like it so much, but I was pleasantly surprised. Now I am waiting on the second book.

Paper Towns

John Green has a way of making me laugh at things that aren't funny.  And I loved this book so much because he pokes fun at everything Florida (namely everything Central Florida).  Having lived here all my life this book made me laugh out loud, literally.

Where She Went

The second book of the If I Stay series, it deals with depression, loss, heartbreak, etc.  I loved it more than the first book.

ACID

I was very skeptical about this one.  But Pass did a great job with Jenna Strong as the heroine.  I love how she would get so confused between her identities of Jenna, Mia, and Jess.  It was very realistic for science fiction.

The Kiss of Deception

Remnant Chronicles book 1.  Not much I can say about this that I haven't already.  I love that people aren't inherently good or evil, but a mix of both.

  1. Throne of Glass is SO good. I love the series, and love Celaena. Champion made my list as well, I think it was the best out of the three.

    1. Thank you! I didn't see Paper Towns on anyone else's list this week. I must be unique. Throne of Glass is great if you're into fantasy. The reading level is pretty low, but the story is still pretty good.

  4. I loved reading Snow Like Ashes and I can't possibly wait for Ice Like Fire. The fact that it's coming out in October makes me want to cry. Snow Like Ashes took me on such a whirlwind of an adventure with amazingly complex characters and plot twists that I didn't expect. I also thought it was really interesting that Sara Raasch wrote the first draft of Snow Like Ashes when she was twelve. That's so inspiring.

    1. ohmygosh I know. I have so many series that I started and can't wait for the next book (including Snow Like Ashes). I kind of wish she had included her hand drawn pictures somewhere though. That would have been adorable.
