March Wrap-Up

How in the world is it April already??  How did this happen?  March went by far too quickly.

So many things happened and so many hings are going on now.  For example: My cats are running around causing chaos and nightmares everywhere they go.  -sigh-

Well let's get on with it then.  What happened in March?

Let's start with writing.  I got really close to finishing my 8th draft of Iron Curse (so close that I actually finished it today. -dances-)  I think I'm going to take a week off from it and work on Spy Project so I can get my head away from Gentaria and Vrenhafna so my final round of revisions before beta reading goes a little smoother.

On another note... I have a shameless plug.  A reminder that the now first seven chapters (not fully revised + I completely changed the prologue but meh) of Iron Curse are now on Wattpad.

And now on to bigger and brighter things.

Zee Reading List
Okay. I read kind of a lot of books.  And listened to a bunch of audiobooks.

Le Physical and eBooks (I have no idea  why I'm talking like this)
Stone Field - Christy Lenzi DNF'd. Stop with the insta-love please.
Rebel of the Sands - Alwyn Hamilton - Really liked it. Also went to buy a copy but my mom ended up buying it instead. Win?
The Island - S Usher Evans You'll just have to wait until my review comes up ;)
The Glittering Court - Richelle Mead This was really good considering it had almost no fantasy elements to it.
The Black Knife - Jodi Meadows Do I need to say what I thought of this? GO BUY HER BOOKS!
Tell Me Three Things - Julie Buxbaum This book was everything.
Magic Study - Maria V Snyder
Fire Study - Maria V Snyder I need more Valek
Assassin Study & Power Study - Maria V Snyder I put the link to them on her site instead of the GR link. Since they are two free short stories.
The Winner's Kiss - Marie Rutkoski Loved this so much.
No Love Allowed - Kate Evangelista A cute contemporary. Review posts next week.
Storm Glass - Maria V Snyder I didn't think I would like Opal's POV. But I did. Just make sure that Ulrick goes away and never comes back xD

Holy crap that was 12-13 books. That's more than normal.

And now zee audiobooks!
Defy - Sara B Larson It was okay. Not great, but not terrible.
Golden Son - Pierce Brown I wasn't fond of the narrator at first. But I grew to like him. And this book. I was shouting out "OMG NO!" at work as it was ending. Good thing I work nights since almost no one was there lol
The Prisoner of Cell 25 - Richard Paul Evans This was meh. But it was narrated by one of my fav narrators so I was able to get into it.
Falling Kingdoms - Morgan Rhodes I listened to this a third time lol. Same narrator as the last book (Fred Berman). I swear it gets better every time.
Firstlife - Gena Showalter Loved the guy narrator. The story drove me crazy. Bright side? I have a new fav narrator that amusingly does mostly romance novels xD
Ignite - Sara B Larson I love this narrator. But the story was ughhh. I'm not sure if I'll continue on.
The Dream Thieves - Maggie Stiefvater (It is so hard spelling her name) I didn't like this narrator. But the story was even better than the first book. Can't wait to get to the next!

It almost looks like I'm pickier when it comes to my audiobooks. Okay I am. But not really. I need a good narrator, that's all! If I will enjoy it on paper I will enjoy it in audio most likely. As long as it's science fiction or fantasy. Okay yea I have some weird quirks.

And now the haul that is missing some because I forgot about them when I took the picture.

So what I forgot when taking this picture was that I bought Assassin's Heart as well. FAIL.

On zee horizon
So let's see. For April, I plan to read basically the ARCs of books that I have that are coming out this month (assuming I haven't read them yet).  I did end up getting a different week off (not the one I requested) so I can revise.  I'll use that to finish up Iron Curse.  I'm not doing Camp NaNo, but I will get as much done on Spy Project as I can.  Since it will probably be a duology ;)

  1. Oh wow, so many books! *applauds while staring in envy* I also tend to be more critical with audiobooks, I don't know why to be honest and think it's a combination of narrator and the amount of time spent (I don't finish a lot of them...)
Anyway, hopefully April brings more books and writing successes :)

  2. You read so many books I'm jealous! Yeah, the ending of Golden Son is just something isn't it? It's so awesome how far along you are with your writing projects! Hope April is just as good, if not better!
