Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish,

This week's top ten theme is Top Ten books to read for Halloween (I'm not very creative at 11pm.. sorry lol)

Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1)
I literally just finished this one. And all I kept thinking was, "Space zombies?!" so yea. Gotta read this one.

Court of Fives (Court of Fives, #1)
This is for one reason only. It mentions spiders.  A lot. -shudder-

Glass Houses (The Morganville Vampires, #1)
A list like this wouldn't be complete without a vampire book.

All My Friends Are Dead
I'm not sure that a book has ever made me laugh more than this one. A children's storybook for adults.  Grim reaper and all.

Dracula
Okay so the ending is meh.  But the rest of the book is excellent and action packed.

Brave New World
A good dystopian can always scare me a bit. Because some things are just too true and too horrid.

Frankenstein
If you read a lot of horror, this won't scare you.  But it's still a wonderful tale (and generally much different from all the movies!)

Blood Street
Wow, I'm really racking up the vampire books here. Vampires plus the mafia. What can go wrong?

Something Strange and Deadly (Something Strange and Deadly, #1)
Mmmm zombies.

Dream a Little Dream (The Silver Trilogy, #1)
This book is weird. I think it qualifies on the "wtf" category.

What are your Halloween reads?

  2. I haven't yet read Frankenstein, but it's on my list to read. I loved Dracula. It made my list too. :-) I never could get into A Brave New World. Maybe someday I'll try again. You've got me curious about All My Friends Are Dead. :-) Great list, Christina!

    1. If you liked Dracula you'll probably like Frankenstein. They both have that old gothic horror feel.

    1. Omg yes! Illuminae was sooo good! And All My Friends Are Dead was so funny. I bought it for a former professor who writes about death in lit.

  6. I really like this list! There are lots of different books, and not necessarily even ones I would think to pair with Halloween, but now that you've said it, totally make sense. Bravo!

  8. I NEED to fit Illuminae into my reading schedule ASAP. I've been wanting to read it forever. Of course I loved Glass Houses, Something Strange and Deadly and Dream a Little Dream (didn't expect the demon thing in that one). Great list! Happy Halloween!
