End of Days is the explosive conclusion to Susan Ee’s bestselling Penryn & the End of Days trilogy. After a daring escape from the angels, Penryn and Raffe are on the run. They’re both desperate to find a doctor who can reverse the twisted changes inflicted by the angels on Raffe and Penryn’s sister. As they set off in search of answers, a startling revelation about Raffe’s past unleashes dark forces that threaten them all.
When the angels release an apocalyptic nightmare onto humans, both sides are set on a path toward war. As unlikely alliances form and strategies shift, who will emerge victorious? Forced to pick sides in the fight for control of the earthly realm, Raffe and Penryn must choose: Their own kind, or each other?
Oh God. This book. There are no words...
As usual, End of Days picks up right where we left off at the end of World After. And things are seriously intense. There are so many twists that are unexpected. And I love them all. But first, I would like to share my favorite quote:
"He arches his perfect eyebrow at me, sending waves of skepticism. 'We have Viagra now.'"
Back on topic: there are so many interactions with Beliel in End of Days. We get a true back story into how he became the bitter demon he is and why he hates Raffe. There are even crazier apocalyptic monsters than the locusts. We meet people from the past. And all of this happens through so much action that Penryn doesn't sleep for days. How does she do it?
I love how much Penryn bonds with Pooky Bear. And ohmygosh do I need to gush about Raffe? His inner turmoil is so present and obvious. And Penryn's mom. She's... um... she's still crazy. But I have found a new appreciation for the delusional.
So many things happen in this amazingly action-packed conclusion to the Penryn and the End of Days series. I'm so obsessed with this series. If Susan Ee were to write novellas, I would buy them right now. If you haven't started this series, you must!
And fret not, because there is a happy ending (if a little bittersweet).
So what did I think?
What do you think I think? This book was amazing! I loved it. I would recommend it to anyone who has read the first two books. I would also recommend the rest of the series to anyone into urban fantasy or YA in general.
Note: I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
